ISMPP has always been powered by volunteers. From educational programs and professional development resources to strategic initiatives and member engagement activities, much of what ISMPP accomplishes is made possible by dedicated professionals who contribute their expertise, perspectives, and energy. Volunteers help shape programs, create resources, and advance initiatives that strengthen both the Society and the broader medical communications and publications community.
Beyond supporting ISMPP, volunteers play a role in advancing ethical and effective medical communications. Through committees and task forces, members contribute to educational content, best-practice resources, and initiatives that help address evolving challenges and opportunities across the profession. The work volunteers do today helps strengthen the profession for the future.

At the same time, volunteering offers significant personal and professional rewards. One of the greatest benefits is the opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the medical communications ecosystem. ISMPP brings together professionals from pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, medical communications agencies, publishers, independent consultancies, and academia. Through collaborative work, volunteers build relationships that often lead to mentorship opportunities, professional growth, and lasting friendships.
