ISMPP Launches the GenAI in Practice Survey

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the way we approach medical communications, but how are ISMPP members really using AI today? Where is AI helping the most, what barriers remain, and what do members want to learn next? These are the questions at the heart of our new GenAI in Practice: An ISMPP Member Survey on Awareness and Application, brought to you by the ISMPP AI Task Force.

To ensure ISMPP members are leading the way, this survey asks you to share your experiences and perspectives. We aim to assess your level of expertise and the consistency with which you use AI across different tasks, evaluate organizational AI readiness in terms of training and SOPs, and capture what knowledge and resources would be most valuable to our members over the next 6–12 months.

With your help, we aim to capture responses across industry, agencies, and publishers and glean insights that can strengthen collaborations across the medical communications ecosystem as AI continues to play an evolving role. Your participation will help create a collective picture of AI use across our profession: identifying trends, highlighting opportunities, and surfacing challenges that members are encountering. By contributing, you’ll give ISMPP the insight to shape future meeting content, develop targeted resources, and ensure our educational offerings remain practical, relevant, and future-focused.

Your Voice Matters!

This is more than just a survey; it’s a benchmarking exercise that will inform how our profession is evolving with AI and provide ISMPP with the evidence needed to adapt alongside it. It will only take about 17 minutes to complete, but your input will make a lasting difference in ensuring we continue to provide value, leadership, and practical guidance in this new era of AI.

An invitation to take the GenAI in Practice survey will be sent via Survey Monkey to your email address registered with ISMPP. Don’t delay…the survey will close on Tuesday, September 23rd.

We look forward to sharing the aggregated, anonymized survey results* at an upcoming ISMPP meeting. We anticipate follow-up surveys in the future in order to continue to have a pulse on the evolving use of AI in medical communications and to deliver resources to serve the needs of our members.

Help shape the future of our field! Thank you for your participation!
