Since publication of the Good Publication Practice 2022 guidelines (GPP 2022) for company-sponsored research in Annals of Internal Medicine just over one year ago, various presentations have addressed audiences in the Asia Pacific region. ISMPP is also now pleased to announce that translations of GPP 2022 into both Chinese and Japanese are available!

“GPP 2022 is one of the most highly referenced guidelines for publication practices. ISMPP encourages our members and all professionals to share information about GPP 2022, its translations, and its related presentations with fellow peers in Asia Pacific and worldwide who are involved in medical publications,” said Robert Matheis, ISMPP’s President & CEO.

Chinese and Japanese Translations of GPP 2022 Now Available!

The availability of Chinese and Japanese translations aims to expand the global reach of the GPP 2022 guidelines and broaden the adoption of good publication practices. These translations can be accessed on the GPP 2022 web page of ISMPP’s website.

Thank You to Our Volunteer Translators!

The two translations were meticulously completed by dedicated volunteers, without whose work these vital documents would not exist. ISMPP gratefully recognizes the following individuals and companies for their time and effort on the translations.

Bringing GPP 2022 to Asia Pacific Audiences

From its initiation, the GPP 2022 Steering Committee (SC) included members with many different kinds of ties to the Asia Pacific region. The SC incorporated guidance from organizations and individuals located in the Asia Pacific region during the review process detailed in the main publication. In addition, GPP 2022 highlighted the need for geographic and broader inclusivity in publication practices and development.

Several GPP 2022 presentations have been made to Asia Pacific audiences by SC members and others at an ISMPP U webinar, as well as organizations like the Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE), Japan Medical and Scientific Communicators Association (JMCA), Indian Society for Clinical Research (ISCR), and the Australasian Medical Writers Association (AMWA). In addition, “Applying the Good Publication Practice 2022 Guidelines in the Asia-Pacific Region: a Practical Guide” was published in Current Medical Research and Opinion (CMRO). It is also worthy to note that JMCA members provided many of the questions that appear on the GPP 2022 FAQs page.
